Introduction

The word “myrrh” has an ancient tradition in the Orthodox Church and, although it is often simply associated with a fragrant oil, its liturgical meaning is much deeper.

What is myrrh?

Role and use

At home, a blessed oil (simple anointing oil) may be used with reverence during prayer or moments of blessing.
